Scanner Cleaning
Great new technology, these scanners. You have to just love taking your kids' or grandkids' photos and scanning them over the Internet to friends and relatives. But how come little Samantha has a mustache? Or why does Billy look like a pirate with a patch over his eye?
Dust and lint can find their way anywhere - scanner surfaces, lenses, etc. Dr. Dust-Off® recommends a good cleaning on an as-needed basis. And there is no better way to do it than with the following Dust-Off® items. Of course, if you have a sheet-fed scanner, use the laser printing cleaning sheets in conjunction with the other cleaning materials.
Dr. Dust-Off Tip
Always turn off the scanner before cleaning. Remove all rings, watches and other jewelry from your hands and wrists before proceeding. Removing dust and lint from the screen is easy. Fixing a scratch from the scanner surface isn't.
Also, if you are a smoker, more frequent cleaning is required. We recommend that you clean your scanner every 4-6 weeks for optimal performance.
