After Returning From Beach Or Stream, How Best To Tackle Sand And Grit
Somerville, NJ (February 2002) - For angler Phil Raymond of Nanuet, N.Y., a less pleasant task after packing away the day's catch is cleaning up gear.
One innovative trick, though, has netted him a portable CD player as the manufacturer of Dust-Off®, most often used to clean computers, sought out novel uses. Wrote Raymond, "Dust-Off's great to blow off sand and salt from fishing reel and tackle box after doing shore fishing."
Most often found in office-supply stores, Dust-Off was invented in the 1970s so news photographers could safely clean negatives and camera equipment. The Grand-Prize winner, announced last month, won a home electronics package worth $3,000 for his suggested use: cleaning automobile air vents.
