Launch
ECO Horn to Feature Lowest Possible Global
Warming Potential
Branchburg, NJ (October 25, 2011) – Falcon
Safety Products, leading manufacturer of safety, sport and marine signal horns,
proudly announces the launch of its non-flammable ECO Safety Horn-- the ECO
Sonic. Falcon Safety Products is proud to be
one of the first U.S.
manufacturers to utilize this revolutionary new propellant; a move that is in
keeping with the company’s long history of environmentally conscious
manufacturing choices. The ECO Sonic uses the same formulation as products
released by Falcon earlier this year throughout Europe that have
been well received in Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal,
and UK among other countries.

The non-flammable
ECO horn will provide consumers with access to the very latest in compressed-gas
technology. While the new propellant utilized in this new product is more
complex and costly to manufacture, it will satisfy the demand of a significant
and growing segment of the consumer market that is willing to pay a premium for
products that contribute to greater
environmental benefit. A new,
colorful and “green” can design with the “ECO” name prominently positioned on
the primary graphic panel highlights the environmentally-sensitive platform and
distinguishes the product on retail shelves.
The launch of the ECO Sonic enables
Falcon to expand its already sizeable product range and continue to lead the
industry in promoting environmental accountability.
The non-flammable ECO horn, along
with a handful of new Dust-Off ECO products, will feature a GWP (global warming potential) rating of 6 – a rating that is
99.5% lower than any other non-flammable
horn on the market. This new offering from Falcon represents
a noteworthy improvement in terms of safety and environmental impact.
To achieve this extremely low GWP number,
Falcon’s product specialists worked with product engineers from Honeywell, a global
leader in next-generation fluorocarbon technology, to introduce Honeywell’s
non-flammable HFO-1234ze tetrafluropropene propellant into the
Dust-Off line.
Available in the
United States, the ECO Sonic will initially be
available only in a 5oz offering,
which will carry a suggested retail price of $37.99. Plans are underway to offer
the ECO horn in a variety of sizes in the near future.
